At Timothy’s Microbrewery, est. 2022, beer is a French-American family affair.

Our story began more than 30 years ago when Timothy Todd, originally from Minnesota, came to Europe as a student and fell in love — first with his future wife, Hélène and then with the region of Alsace.

 

After 10 years in France, and 3 kids later, they returned to the United States. Timothy discovered craft beer in Colorado and began home brewing in the garage. He decided to take it one step further by going back to school to study brewing at Regis University Denver.

The family eventually decided to once again cross the Atlantic, with the dream of opening a microbrewery, in the village that had always held a special place in their hearts: Eguisheim. ​ 

 

In the birthplace of Pope Saint Leo IX, the Todd Family renovated a 16th-century winery, transforming it into their home and the microbrewery/taproom you see today. The goal was to give this historic building a new story by breathing fresh life into its walls and into the local craft beer scene.

Today, Timothy brews side-by-side with his daughter, Natalie, creating small-batch beers inspired by both European tradition and American craft brewing innovation. At the front of the house, Hélène is the welcoming face of Timothy’s, always happy to make new friends from all over the world.

More than anything, we want Timothy’s to feel like home away from home — a place to gather, share stories, and enjoy good beer together. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast, a curious traveler, or a local stopping by for your favorite pint, welcome to the family. We’re glad you’re here!
